(The Princesses of Westfalin Trilogy #1)
By Jessica Day George
First time i read this book .. I was so caught up and enchanted by the story ~ captivating from start to finish!
Princess of the Midnight ball is actually a retelling of the old favorite fairy-tale by Grimms’ tale "The Twelve Dancing Princesses". Owh if you like to watch movie ~ Barbie version also have about the twelve dancing princesses (i watched >///< - ignore ~) but this book is just lovely…LOVELY!! Must Read !!!
A book that i feel so nice, easy to read, makes you happy, offers you a warm smile, give u good feeling when you need an escape from your real world (i giggle a lot while reading this >o<, kinda relaxing). It is not too taxing on the mind, not too heavy on the heart … everything just happens at a gentle pace.
Why this book is a very lovely and interesting? The story about kingdom, princesses, magic, mystery and true meaning of love with no boundaries .. the most interesting in this book is about Galen .. a soldier that can knit ^^.(i just learned how to knit and it is not that easy haha).
The retelling start with Galen: a soldier that has just returned from war, and is offered a position working in the Queen’s garden with his only living relative. Here Galen meets the legend of the 12 dancing princesses, doomed to dance every night for the King Under Stone. No one in the kingdom can solve the mystery of the sister's continually ruined shoes. Not to mention, the sisters can say nothing about where they go or what they do.
The king longs to discover the mystery behind his daughters' disappearances. He promises the hand of one of his fair daughters to the man who can discover their secret and so their adventure begin.
The climax of the story was very entertaining. It was interesting to see how Galen and the princesses defeat the King Under Stone and his twelve sons. In particular, the story focuses on Rose, the eldest princess. Galen and Rose have a really sweet relationship. So ~ better don't missed this book ^^
Owhh yea .. if you like knitting inside the book have some pattern you can try ^^ ~
